West Dunbartonshire Amateur Swimming Club
West Dunbartonshire Amateur Swimming Club (WDASC)
was formed in 1982 and is based at the Vale of Leven Swimming
Pool, Alexandria and the Play Drome, Clydebank. The Club is
affiliated not only to the Western District of the SASA but
also to West Dunbartonshire Sports Council. The Club currently
has a membership of approximately 100 swimming members and has
achieved outstanding swimming success in recent years. The
continual improvement within the Club has been brought about
by the creation of an environment which allows all swimmers to
reach their full potential. The creation of this environment
has been influenced by a number of factors: the Club holds two
highly successful intensive Training Camps (Long Course and
Short Course) sponsored by West Dunbartonshire Sports Council;
the Club is generously allocated excellent training facilities
by West Dunbartonshire Council - Commercial and Technical
Section (CaTS) and benefit from their support and advice.
These factors have proved to be invaluable in the Club's
progress towards excellence. The appointment of a Head Coach
has provided the Club with the strategy and progressive plans
to facilitate the achievement of standards of excellence. The
marked improvement in the Club's performance reflects also the
continuing commitment from swimmers, coaches and parents.
